One of my favorite things to do when following the Conflict in Syria on sites like Youtube is attempting to try to place myself in the shoes of the participants in the conflict. I try to imagine what their childhood was like, what they saw that drove them to pick up arms, how they survive today and if they have any doubts. I recently came across a what appears to be the personal account of a Chechen Islamist with Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar (JMA). Jaish is most known for briefly spending time affiliated with ISIS before a large number broke away from the group. The infamous Omar Al-Shishani decided to shift his alliance from JMA to ISIS at this time and stayed with the group. The large majority of the group however decided to honor their "bayah" or pledge of allegiance/loyalty to the Caucasus Emirate and its leader Dokka Umarov.
Militants offering Dua after what appears to be a successful fight
Video appears to be shot here in Layramoun District in Northern Aleppo. JAM has been in this area for quiet some time.
Firing an infamous “hell cannon”
Sending greetings to fighters still in the Caucasus Emirate
Footage of participation in the Idlib offensive (With Al-Nusra and Ahrar Al Sham)
Footage of a few fighters preparing a meal
I am going to keep following this account. In my opinion, it is from personal youtube accounts like these that will provide you with the best source of information on what is actually going on in places like Syria.
